FOOT CARE TIPS |
When it comes to beauty care one aspect of our body that we tend to neglect often is our Feet. Your Feet carry the weight of your entire body and if often one of the most abused and least cared for parts of your body.
In Today;s world when we all are busy and stressed out, always falling short of time. It is not possible to visit the parlour on a regular basis especially for foot treatments.
Cleaning Tips :
- A concoction of honey, liquid soap and almond oil in a 1:1:2 ratio, to which a tea spoon of vanilla extract has been added, works well for the feet.This mixture when poured into a small basin of warm water and used to soak feet in, will make them relaxed and cleansed.
- For smelly feet, an alternate day soak in warm water mixed with lavender oil and a pinch of salt, works wonders. It is a nerve relaxant as well.
- A few drops of vinegar, mixed with 50 grams of curd, when rubbed thoroughly on heels, between toes and all over the feet, then left to stay for 10 minutes; will cleanse the feet well, removing all dead cells, when washed off.
PEDICURE |
- Remove old polish and examine feet for any nail or foot disorders.
- Soak feet for 5-10 Minutes in a warm, vibrating footbath that has an aromatic, disinfectant solution. Try this one... 1 Tablespoons baking soda and 10 drops of your favorite essential oil.
- Remove dead skin with an exfoliating cream. Callused skin should be treated with a moisturizing product, and then gently buffed with an exfoliating tool.It should never be cut or shaved off.
- Hydrate cuticles with cuticle cream, then pushed back from the nail plate with an orangewood stick.
- Trim toenails and file, with corners gently rounded to prevent them from growing into the corners of the surrounding tissue.
- The highlight of any pedicure is the soothing foot and leg massage(to the knee) that relaxes tired muscles and promotes circulation.
- Finally, apply polish.
Warm 3 cups whole milk. In another bowl, mix 1/2 cup coarse salt and 1/3 cup olive oil. Soak feet in milk for 10 minutes, then rise. Scrub feet with salt-oil mixture. Rinse and apply a moisturizer and thick socks(heated in the dryer) to seal in the softness.
Scrubbing Tips :
- Dead skin can be removed on a daily basis with a pumice stone.
- For hardened heels, grind some almonds/strawberries; mix them with olive oil/almond oil and a teaspoon of sea salt. Use this mixture as a scrub for your feet. Rigorous movements will enhance blood circulation too.Wash with warm water and apply moisturizing oil.
- Apply a mixture of glycerine, fresh cream and honey, all in equal amounts onto your feet. Let it stay for 15 minutes and then wash off with warm water. Follow this for 3 days and find your feet soft and smooth.
- A Mixture of glycerine and rose water applied every night before bedtime helps keep feet soft and glowing, especially the heels.
- Almond oil massaged onto feet before bedtime keeps cracks and dry skin at bay, especially during winters.
- Application of Aloe Vera gel on your feet daily will keep them well moisturized and free of diseases like athlete's foot.
- Wear the right Shoes, a little tight or a little loose do not work well.
- Do away with stingy buckles, straps that rub too much and too high heeled pairs.
- Comfort is primary for long hours in one pair only, So choose wisely. Reserve the fancy pairs for evening outs only.
- Let your feet breathe for a while. Wash and clean them well and then wear some airy foot wear at least for an hour everyday.
- Walks, Yoga or some light exercise increases blood circulation in the feet and legs.
- Follow all foot care regimes at night. This not only relaxes you at the end of the day but also gives ample time to your feet to absorb the applications well.
- Wear socks of good material and change them daily.
Use a loofah sponge to exfoliate tops, sides and bottom of your feet. Remember to scrub all of your toes too. After drying with a fluffy towel, apply your favorite moisturizer generously and then put on a thick (heated from the dryer) pair of socks on for a pampered feeling.
Banana Foot Cream :
Dry Feet will become Smooth and soft overnight if you mix :
- 1/2 banana
- Juice from 1/2 Lemon Juice
- 1 Tablespoon Natural Margarine
smear on feet and wear thick socks to bed, wash off in the morning.
